Hieu Hoang has been working as a theatre maker on long-term projects since 2015. Since 2020, he has increasingly taken on work as an author and translator. In 2020, he took part in the LCB’s (Literarisches Colloquium Berlin) prose writers’ workshop; in 2022, he was awarded the Berlin Senate’s literature working grant; and in 2024, he was a fellow at the LCB’s translators’ workshop. Most recently, in the summer of 2025, he curated the “Sportfest” theatre and performance festival at the Ballhaus Ost.
